Sweet Tea and Roses

I’ve got the to

Hot to sleep blues

Fix myself a tall glass

Of sweet ice tea

With a shot of Jack

Go sit among the roses

In the quiet stillness

Silver ribbons of stars dust

Fall softly – beauty and contentment

Embrace me, bringing joy to

My emptiness

Roses thick on the fence

Red, pink, yellow, blossom

Leaves and vines

A bit of chaos in the moonlight

The blues playing

Soft and low on the air

My thoughts float light

As a little bee

Among the roses

The Moon – big and bright

A sky full of wish upon stars

And on the warm gentle breeze

The irresistible sweet perfume

Of the roses

Such a sweet leafy place

Where no clock chimes the hour

To be a rose

Soft and enchanting

To begin again

To be utterly wild

If a thing is dreamed

Surely the dream must be

Shinning leaves kissed by the dew

To be a rose

Delicate and delicious

Fluttering in the breeze

At last I grow sleepy

Full of sighs and wishes

For who does not

Love Roses
