The Tenderness of the Darkness

Lavender sunset fades softly into stars

The quick of day ravished by the night

And the scent of flowers and rain on the wind

Alone on my ways, alone on my path

Alone till the evening dims

Sure if it’s done forever – where

Alone is a part of me

The Tenderness of the Darkness

Oh hush my soul, take comfort now

Gentle with forgetting – with graciousness

Of time passed stilly by – evening sweet

Star shine does not hurt my heart

Nor make me cry

Come breathe with me

I come to you who do

Not know me coming

Your passion my far touch

Your joy my kiss

I am your quietness, I am your pleasure

Waiting you in the darkness

Where we are one

With star shine raining down

There the lighted flowers spread

There the lover – dead

Lost the unloved lover

Asked of me at end of night

Foolish – I never gave dreams away

No thing is worth my while

I can sing now and smile

Come breathe with me

Reality and I have quarrelled. This is where I go so he can't find me, my Other Place. Here I can spin my Fancies and Fiction, as I wander among the Stars and listen as they whisper their secret to the moon. My name is Annie, I am lovely and lonely and I belong deeply to myself. I love cats, listening to the blues, the mountains more than the beach, being lazy, writing my fancies and fiction and I also love to crochet. That's me and this is my Other Place.
