As Cold As The Stars

Beneath nights canopy

Moonlight trickles down

Night questions whisper In the wind

In the shadows I see

Something sinister and inviting

The woods of death – the hour of enchantment

As death comes through

The soft rain, like mist

I go deeper and deeper

Into the silence and shadows

Breathing around me

Whispered words of terror

Risk or rapture, pain or ecstasy

Agony or desire – night

Question hurrying down the air

I look inside the darkness

Pure darkness – and see

The hazy eyes of oblivion

Pebbles of rain drops

Softly dripping in the deep and black

As death rises up

As in a dance

And takes my hand

We spin and spin

Under the endless sky

The moonlight magical

The darkness clinging

Deeper and deeper into Everlasting

Lips parted, eyes closed

Deaths kiss stings sweetly

As intimate as love

As cold as the stars
