Love Happened At Last

Not a whisper not a sigh

Let the winds of midnight

Blow softly – of the slow pleasure

Holding you, holding me

Slip into my stillness and

Let us fall apart together

Like stardust – anoint the air between us

Fingertips tripping down

To touch me in the dark

Body – time – hip-sway

So dazzlingly greeted – so suddenly needed

Love happened at last

In the tangle of our bodies

I slip inside your shirt, lie flat against

Your chest – wrapping arms and legs

Over and under  each other

Finally, the only one I want is you

You watch the lightning dance in the midnight sky

I watch your eyes
