Roads Home

In vacant idleness

cold reality of

remembrance sorrow

left my torn heart

to wither and vanish

Chilly wind – frozen stars

singing to the honest air

to quiet my heartache, after

My packet of dreams

shattered – rainbow – strung

my world – unspelled

a will – o – the – wisp

I followed far

roads to hate – roads to love

but never roads to home

Long way to everywhere

short way home

naught to seek that I

and never road back

my strength – forever tired

and this is all

with  no place for memory

The furthest star last secret out

everything old – is new

life goes which ever way

it goes

you fret and grieve and turn

about – that so

but never road to home

Reality and I have quarrelled. This is where I go so he can't find me, my Other Place. Here I can spin my Fancies and Fiction, as I wander among the Stars and listen as they whisper their secret to the moon. My name is Annie, I am lovely and lonely and I belong deeply to myself. I love cats, listening to the blues, the mountains more than the beach, being lazy, writing my fancies and fiction and I also love to crochet. That's me and this is my Other Place.
