Dream Me Some Happiness

Dream me some happiness

Just beyond the fairest thoughts

Dimly I hear from a hidden place

The sigh of my forgotten adoration

Lie warm together at days beginning

Our lips smile and kiss

This invisible happiness

A lonely spirit guiding

Where the garish lights

That fly – dying along the

Trouble sky – longing night and day

To dream my very life away

Where the moonbeam fell

Tears on memory’s eye

Nothing turns the hours there

But the sound of our

Voices talking softly

The rain would glitter upon

Our hair in the dark

Arm in arm – what of

The girl in your caress

Lying here in my loneliness

Watch my youth run by

Dream me some happiness

Reality and I have quarrelled. This is where I go so he can't find me, my Other Place. Here I can spin my Fancies and Fiction, as I wander among the Stars and listen as they whisper their secret to the moon. My name is Annie, I am lovely and lonely and I belong deeply to myself. I love cats, listening to the blues, the mountains more than the beach, being lazy, writing my fancies and fiction and I also love to crochet. That's me and this is my Other Place.
