Empty Fancies

Now happiest, Loveliest startled star

Glittering through the night

Just now so fairy like

The winds tinkling like a bell

Into the darkness of my room

Like joy upon sorrow

There the lovely clouds

Cry tears so mournfully

And fell so deliriously sweet

The leaf and blossom of the rose

Hangs her head and longs to rest

So lovely was the loneliness

Like moonlight on my soul fell

And the silken sad uncertain

Darkness grows stronger

And my empty fancies

Flirt and flutter on the morrow

That lies floating on my bedroom floor

Reality and I have quarrelled. This is where I go so he can't find me, my Other Place. Here I can spin my Fancies and Fiction, as I wander among the Stars and listen as they whisper their secret to the moon. My name is Annie, I am lovely and lonely and I belong deeply to myself. I love cats, listening to the blues, the mountains more than the beach, being lazy, writing my fancies and fiction and I also love to crochet. That's me and this is my Other Place.
