Memoried Sweetness

Wrapping my heart again

In old dreams

I shall have back my laughter

My youth if only for a moment

There are flowers there

Far taller than I, satin roses

Velvet – painted pansies

Staring at the sky

Green – leaved hiding -places

Still my heart can hide there

Though the long years

Lie between and I am

Far away; I can

Dream the peace still

When the world is hard now

And my heart  is tired

And dust lies everywhere

I can still wrap myself

In old dreams and hide

My heart in

It’s memoried sweetness
