Dead Words

Time passes by
The day goes by
Once again,  alone
Swallowed up into
The universe

No colors, nor sounds
Dead words
Barely we live everyday
The silent screams and the silent tears
Up above heartbreak

Nowhere are the true words
Nowhere are the magic words
Words that you could have used
I loved
Words that I should have used
I regretted

Dead words
Empty words
Remain invisible, invincible
That is why they are dead

  1. I certainly know the loneliness of unrequited love, and listening to the secrets of the moon. Maybe it is the balsamic moon’s/heavily occupied 12th house’s lot to experience this again and again, as a way to learn to let go of the old, and to embrace the new, even if that is fleeting…I really love your poetry, it speaks deep within my heart, evokes the heart break and sorrow, fey and cosmic wanderings. You are truly a magical and natural poet :).

  2. The power of words is, I feel, sometimes lost once they are put down. There is a constant struggle between the need to articulate one’s feelings and the ability to do just that. How often have we said (or not said) something only for the eords yo betray our intention? You put this across well in this poem, Annie.

Powerful and strong words. A amazing poem. Sometime bad times become dead memories. Dead memories become our words to be written. A perfect life leave us with little chance of pleasure knowned.
