Insanity and Freedom

The mirrors image is fading
Everything is so distorted now
Were once pieces of a hopeful soul
Now whispers of tangled truths
Scattered to the winds without
Care without thought

Nothing else lives beyond
But emptiness – trillions of miles
Full of emptiness
I’m alone
Aimlessly roaming in the air

I don’t know where I’m going
But at this moment
I don’t really care
Days that will never return
I watch as they float
Throughout the horizon

I escaped from it all
To chase the brightest
Stars in the night sky
At the borderline of
Insanity and freedom
Dance ‘Til dusk
And kiss eternity

Reality and I have quarrelled. This is where I go so he can't find me, my Other Place. Here I can spin my Fancies and Fiction, as I wander among the Stars and listen as they whisper their secret to the moon. My name is Annie, I am lovely and lonely and I belong deeply to myself. I love cats, listening to the blues, the mountains more than the beach, being lazy, writing my fancies and fiction and I also love to crochet. That's me and this is my Other Place.

Nice to dance to the sound of insanity where few can know or see. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry..

      1. Not as much as I would like, and now that I am retired I just don’t have the money. Plus I had to move and buy a new car,so have lots of experience that I didn’t have before. So goes life.
