Wishingwells and Happy Endings

I want to write happy things
But the heartache flows
So much easier
Than smiling words ever could

Dark and dreary or
Dark and soul and rock ‘n’ roll
That was my life with you
Midnight interrupted
By moonbeams and stardust
Wishingwells and happy endings

Gone in minutes
Like the bits and pieces
Of my heart – small mementos
Left behind to remember me by

I’ll sit here with my whiskey
And my lessons long since leaned
Denying the bad – overlooking truths
Trying to put me back together again

You, you are nothing
More than a fairytale now
Just one I think about
Once Upon a Time

Reality and I have quarrelled. This is where I go so he can't find me, my Other Place. Here I can spin my Fancies and Fiction, as I wander among the Stars and listen as they whisper their secret to the moon. My name is Annie, I am lovely and lonely and I belong deeply to myself. I love cats, listening to the blues, the mountains more than the beach, being lazy, writing my fancies and fiction and I also love to crochet. That's me and this is my Other Place.
