Rose Colored Glasses

Whispers in my ear
Dreams of fairytales, tales of lies
And everything between
My thoughts, they lead me
Through a world of their own

They do as they please
Go where they will
I understand them
Yet they confuse me

In a breath of clear
Moonlight as I write
I fill these pages
With my tears

I wear my rose colored glasses
Until I felt my heart break
And my soul shatter
Into one gentle crystal
Dew of rain
Meant for no one

The stars whisper
The universe’s secrets
The lullaby of the moon

While I sit
Beneath the willow
Caught up in nothing
But a dream

Reality and I have quarrelled. This is where I go so he can't find me, my Other Place. Here I can spin my Fancies and Fiction, as I wander among the Stars and listen as they whisper their secret to the moon. My name is Annie, I am lovely and lonely and I belong deeply to myself. I love cats, listening to the blues, the mountains more than the beach, being lazy, writing my fancies and fiction and I also love to crochet. That's me and this is my Other Place.

  1. It is nice to see the world with rose colored glasses.
    “While I sit
    Beneath the willow
    Caught up in nothing
    But a dream”
I try to go to Lake St. Clair and I sit/write by the willow tree. A amazing poem my friend.

      1. Well you had me wondering, a Halloween poem, but I probably would make a great good witch , no wicked witch for me, much to ugly lol…..

      2. I am more Fairy Princess and Knights in Shining Armor 😊 dragons and the evil wizard. Lots of sword fights, I think I’m channeling The Lord of the Rings lol…….

      3. I haven’t wrote a halloween poem in five years. I like to test my skill. You are my muse to write. I need good story and poetry to make the old mind work.

  2. That I like the way you write means nothing. That I do, means everything to me. We all write as we write, some see, others are blind. Never change your voice, what you need to say, you will. Truth in writing is from the heart, for that I thank you from mine.
